Diversified has released its first-ever Sustainability Impact Summary, Progress with Purpose, highlighting the company’s efforts to better measure, manage and improve its environmental and social impact across its global portfolio.
The 2025 report is organized around four pillars — Our Plan, Our People, Our Partners and Our Progress — and provides a look at the strategy, people and partnerships helping advance sustainability across Diversified’s events, workplaces and communities.
“Over the past few years, we’ve taken meaningful steps to better understand and manage our environmental and social impact,” said Diversified CEO Ted Wirth. “We are committed to doing the hard work, embedding sustainable practices into our operations, learning as we go, and being transparent about both our progress and our challenges.”
Measuring What Matters
A major focus of Diversified’s sustainability strategy is building the data and infrastructure needed to understand its impact. In 2025, the company began measuring sustainability performance across 17 events spanning four global divisions, with a goal of measuring 100% of its approximately 70 global events by 2030.
Diversified also established a set of Global Sustainability Goals through 2030, focused on five areas: managing emissions, reducing waste, managing resources, caring for communities and strengthening partnerships.
Progress Across Our Global Community
The report highlights a number of initiatives already generating measurable impact across Diversified and its events, including:
- 40 employees trained through the Event Industry Council’s Sustainable Event Professional program.
- More than $26,000 in employee-directed charitable contributions to nonprofit organizations around the world in 2025.
- More than 24,000 trees planted through Diversified UK’s partnership with Carma at Accountex London.
- 7,900 kilograms of surplus food collected at Fine Food Australia through a partnership with OzHarvest, the equivalent of more than 15,800 meals redistributed locally.
- 15.5 tons of surplus food rescued across Diversified UK events through City Harvest, helping deliver more than 36,000 meals while preventing an estimated 32.9 tons of emissions.
- More than 100 pieces of technology equipment, totaling 357 pounds, diverted from disposal through a Portland-based e-waste collection effort.
The report also highlights Diversified’s investment in its people, including employee development, well-being and inclusion initiatives. Diversified reported employee engagement and retention of more than 90% year over year.
Building on the Momentum
Looking ahead, Diversified plans to continue expanding data collection, scaling successful pilot programs, strengthening partnerships and embedding sustainability practices more deeply across its global organization. The company will also expand its Sustainability Champions Network into its UK and Australia divisions.
The guiding philosophy behind the work is simple: Progress over perfection. Action over intention.
As Diversified continues working toward its 2030 goals, the company remains focused on measuring its impact, learning from the data and working alongside employees, partners, exhibitors and communities to drive meaningful progress.
