Diversified Communications Expands US Business Management Portfolio Acquiring The Sleeter Group

Diversified Communications announced today the acquisition of The Sleeter Group, Inc. This acquisition strengthens their business management portfolio by expanding the audience and services of the largest organization for financial operations professionals: The Institute of Finance & Management (IOFM).

Diversified’s 2013 acquisition of The Accounts Payable Network (TAPN) and The Accounts Receivable Network (TARN) transformed IOFM into the leading organization with targeted training and certification programs for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Professionals and Controllers, with online repositories of mission-critical accounts payable/receivable research, technology analysis, applications evaluations and best practices.

“While IOFM serves professionals inside larger companies, The Sleeter Group’s audience is made up accountants and consultants who serve small businesses.” stated RD Whitney, Group Vice President of Diversified Communications. “We are impressed with the quality of the products in the portfolio and how they serve their customers, and we feel that this business will be an excellent complement to our IOFM group.”

The Sleeter Group, Inc. operates a membership community that provides professional training and development through an annual conference, membership networking forums, webinars, books, exams, newsletters, blogs and research services. The company serves a large, dynamic market with roughly 28 million small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and 1.8 million accountants in the U.S. The Sleeter Group’s 800 members provide bookkeeping and consulting services to over 300,000 SMEs.

Doug Sleeter, founder of The Sleeter Group will continue to be involved in the business and The Sleeter Group’s staff will join Diversified Communications and remain working from the office in Pleasanton, CA. Mr. Sleeter commented, “I could not imagine a better match for us than Diversified. They are just as passionate as we are about serving our market and they are perfectly positioned to build on what we’ve developed. They bring vast resources, incredible management, and deep experience that will help us realize our dreams for serving a growing market. I’m looking forward to working with Diversified’s IOFM team to facilitate the transition and to continue our culture of leading change in the market for small business accounting solutions.”
