Diversified officially celebrated the opening of its new headquarters at 2 Portland Square this week with an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony held in collaboration with the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce. The event welcomed members of the local business community, neighboring businesses, project partners, and Chamber members to mark this exciting new chapter in downtown Portland.
The new headquarters spans portions of the second, third, and fourth floors of 2 Portland Square and was designed to support collaboration, flexibility, and connection among employees. Inspired by Maine’s woods and waters, the workspace reflects both the company’s roots and its future.
“What really sets us apart is that we’re family-owned. We think in decades, not quarters, and that shapes how we invest in our people, our workspace, and the communities we serve,” said Ted Wirth, CEO, Diversified.
The office was built around an Activity Based Working (ABW) model, creating a variety of spaces designed for different types of work and collaboration. Since relocating from 121 Free Street earlier this year, employees have embraced the modern layout and shared spaces.
“We’re in the business of bringing global business communities together through in person events and digital media. Connecting people is at the essence of what we do, and we wanted our space to reflect that energy,” said Liz Plizga, President, Diversified USA. “The energy among employees has been evident since the move, with staff embracing the new layout, collaborative spaces, and modern amenities that define the building.”
Diversified also announced plans for an outdoor patio space, expected to break ground later this summer.
“This thoughtfully designed space reflects how we work today, supporting a hybrid model that values both flexibility and in-person collaboration. It creates room to grow, innovate, and continue building strong connections, both within the team and across the industries Diversified serves,” said Quincy Hentzel, President & CEO of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce. “We’re fortunate to have a company like Diversified continuing to invest here in Portland, contributing to our local economy while making a global impact.”
The celebration included office tours, refreshments, and a ribbon cutting ceremony held at the top of the building’s interior staircase, with guests gathering in the third-floor lounge to commemorate the occasion.
