Diversified’s Annual Holiday Contributions Program is just one way that Diversified stands behind its commitment to community and making it a great place to work. Through a generous fund provided by Diversified’s shareholders, local organizations have been receiving financial assistance from the company for over 25 years, but in 2005 Diversified started asking employees where the dollars should be allocated.
“Diversified is committed to contributing to the communities in which we live and work and making this a great placed to work. During the Holiday Season we ask our employees to nominate organizations in which they are involved to receive a financial gift.” Said Theodore Wirth, President & CEO of Diversified Communications. “It’s an honor to maintain this tradition for our employees and local communities, started by my predecessor, Nancy Hasselback, and on behalf of our Shareholders.”
Just before Thanksgiving, Diversified reached out to its 600 employees, in 10 offices, across 6 countries to ask what organizations are important to them. This year, Diversified will be sending gifts to over 50 organizations in the US, Australia, Hong Kong and The UK with a letter by the employee who nominated the non-profit.
“I love this program. When Diversified gives to an organization I choose, it makes me feel like Diversified cares about me.” said, Anne-Marie Thibodeau, Database Developer, when she submitted her letter to be included with the check to Kennebec Valley Humane Society.
Although Diversified’s Holiday Contribution Program is the most popular with employees, corporate giving takes place throughout the year. Employees direct where those funds are gifted as well. In the Portland office, employees participating in a fund raising event or holding a seat on a Board of Directors for a non-profit can nominate the organization to receive funding or sponsorship from Diversified anytime throughout the year. Employees also nominate and vote on the company’s four Corporate Partners. Diversified’s Corporate Partners receive a $5000 grant, promotional time with staff and a day of volunteers.
